Skin Peels

Skin peels use a chemical solution made of exfoliants (such as glycolic, salicylic and trichloroacetic –TCA)  to remove the top layers of sun-damaged skin and stimulate it’s healthy re-growth in a controlled fashion.  New cells, formed during healing, produce a tighter, more youthful-looking skin. Chemical peels have proven successful in restoring wrinkled, sun-damaged and blemished skin, and may be applied to the entire face, or to specific areas such as the mouth or forehead.

Fully certified plastic surgeon Dr Linda Fiumara offers her patients a number of chemical facial peels that are available for a variety of skin types. These treatments can complement your surgery or skin care regimen.

Dr Fiumara’s patients in the Chelsea and  Kensington  area have sought facial peels for some of the following reasons:

  • To enhance skin damaged by age, sun or wind exposure
  • To provide a smoother look and feel to facial skin
  • For a more youthful, relaxed and vibrant appearance

Time, gravity, sun and extreme weather can take a toll on the skin with which we were born. Other factors such as sleeping habits, nutrition, alcohol consumption, smoking and skin care routines also affect the skin’s vitality and health.

Several types of chemical peel treatments are available for a variety of skin tones and conditions:

Superficial Glycolic skin peels.

Superficial/Medium Epionce skin peels.

Medium TCA skin peels.

Dr Fiumara will consult with you to carefully determine which chemical peel procedure would be most effective and appropriate to your specific needs.
